The Glasgow Walking App is a research-driven mobile experience that brings Glasgow’s Victorian business history to life.

Designed to encourage active travel and richer, data-informed exploration of the city, the app guides users through 18 audio-described stops across central Glasgow, enhanced with archival imagery and generated video to create a layered, immersive experience.

Created by researchers at University of Strathclyde Business School and the University of Stirling, in partnership with Loopsio.

Expected to launch in summer 2026.
